established in Spokane in 1984, which specializes in sustainable design,
multi-family housing, commercial, and governmental construction. A
graduate of the University of Idaho, Rod is a member of the Board of
Directors of the Cascadia Green Building Council; served on the
Washington State High Performance Building Advisory Committee and the
Washington State Community Trade & Economic Development’s “Green Team”
for Sustainable Home Design; and is a past Chair of the Spokane Housing
Authority. |

Mark D. Aden, P.E., S.E.
is a
principal with DCI Engineers, and the founding partner of their Spokane
office. Founded in 1988 (1998 in Spokane) DCI now has over 175
employees in five West Coast offices. Mark has 22 years of experience
in the structural engineering field, designing a wide variety of
commercial, industrial, educational, and governmental projects. He is a
licensed civil and structural engineer in 28 states, and has practiced
throughout the United States and beyond. Mark is an active member of
many different organizations, including the Downtown Spokane
Partnership, Spokane Chamber of Commerce, Structural Engineers
Association of Washington, and the American Institute of Architects. |

Len Zickler, AICP, FASLA, LEED AP,
has 35 years of experience as a planner and landscape architect, and
leads AHBL’s Spokane office. Len’s career has included experience as a
SEPA official for the City of Spokane Planning Department; urban
designer and commissioner for the cities of Mercer Island, Issaquah and
King County; a planner, landscape architect and principal at Jongejan
Gerrard McNeal; and for the past 10 years, principal at AHBL overseeing
the Planning and Landscape Architecture Departments. Len’s work has
focused on all aspects of current and long range planning including
comprehensive and community planning, site feasibility and selection,
environmental analysis, entitlements, permit coordination, and site
master planning. Len’s public sector experience includes comprehensive
planning for communities throughout Washington and Alaska; GMA-related
consulting for the Cities of Newcastle, Pacific, Sumner, Bonney Lake,
Milton and Pierce County; and zoning administration for the City of
Spokane. As a landscape architect, Len has completed numerous master
plans, and landscape designs for historic preservation, education,
recreation and residential projects. Len was elected to the College of
Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects in 2007.

Tom Arnold, P.E. is a principal with Coffman Engineers. Coffman has 200
employees in four west coast offices (Spokane, Seattle, Los Angeles, and
Anchorage). Tom is the Civil Department Manager for the Spokane office
and has more than 20 years of experience in the management, planning,
design and construction of municipal infrastructure and public/private
site design/development. His municipal background includes a special
emphasis in transportation, utilities (including combined sewers), and
related land use/site development requirements. Tom has special
expertise in working with local, state, and federal agencies in regard
to regulations, ordinances, environmental and other regulatory policies
that affect the permitting, design, and construction on both
public/private projects. In addition, Tom has extensive experience in
the formation of Local Improvement Districts and right-of-way management
(including street vacations, access easements, encroachment permits, and
franchises). He also has experience in construction engineering working
with owners/contractors to solve construction problems. |

Lathan
Wedin is an Architectural Intern at ALSC Architects currently testing
for his architectural license. Lathan graduated from Washington State
University Interdisciplinary Design Institute with a Master of
Architecture degree in 2003. Lathan has been involved with designing
many regional architectural projects such as the WSU Martin Stadium
Phase 3 Tower, Gonzaga University Soccer Complex, WSU Soccer Complex,
City of Spokane Neighborhood Pools and the Kiona-Benton City High
School. Lathan is an active member in many different organizations
including Habitat for Humanity, Future City Kids Competition and 2nd
Harvest food bank. |

William Grimes, AICP, has more than 20 years of planning
and urban design experience in both the public and the private sectors.
Bill is the founder and principal of Studio Cascade which specializes in
effective community participation and interconnecting the public voice,
long-range planning, and urban design, earning awards from the
California and Washington Chapters of the American Planning
Association. Bill is a member of Eastern Washington University’s
adjunct faculty, and has taught courses in Spokane and Liverpool (United
Kingdom) on land development and the evolution of cities, and in
Australia on the links between the humanities and city form. He is a
member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and holds a
Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from California State
Polytechnic University, Pomona. |

Dana Harbaugh, AIA, LEED® AP is a licensed
architect in the states of Washington, Idaho and California. He is a
Principal at NAC|Architecture where he led the design of the Inland
Northwest Blood Center, the Science and Mathematics Building at Spokane
Community College, the Business and Social Science Building at Spokane
Falls Community College, and the renovation and addition of Rogers High
School. He is a LEED certified professional and has served as a guest
critic for the architecture programs at both WSU and the University of
Idaho. He has been active on the Spokane Arts Commission since 2003,
serving as the Chair in 2007. Dana graduated from Montana State
University in 1989. |
